Sacre Impro

Live electronics performance.
Collaboration with pianist Julien Quentin.

Improvisational concert that starts off with played and sampled parts from Le Sacre du Printemps by Igor Stravinsky and evolves into an electronic based improvisation. Quentin plays virtuoso passages on poly-rhythmic structures built by Bulak. Each concert is different, whereas the framework remains recognisable.

"Their appearance at the 2017 Verbier Festival was the start of a series of inspiring and innovative concerts by award-winning, multi-faceted pianist Julien Quentin and boundary-pushing composer Kaan Bulak. Imagine a mix of concert hall and club-electro and you will begin to comprehend this unique sonic experience. Their 2018 appearance includes the world premiere of a new work for piano duo that combines both virtuosity and electronic beats.”
